Women In Semarang Become Victims Of Domestic Violence DIE, Minister Of PPPA: The Law Of The Perpetrators!

JAKARTA - Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), Bintang Puspayoga encouraged the authorities to resolve the domestic violence case in Tembalang District, Semarang City, Central Java. According to him, the perpetrators must be dealt with firmly based on applicable regulations.

"KemenPPPA asks that the perpetrators get punishment based on evidence and applicable legal rules, especially Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence Article 44 paragraph (3), namely physical violence which results in the death of the victim being sentenced to a maximum imprisonment of 15 years or a maximum fine of Rp45 million," said Bintang in his statement, quoted from Antara, Thursday. 28 October.

Bintang expressed his concern and deep sorrow for the victims who died as a result of experiencing domestic violence.

"We, the ranks of the KemenPPPA, express our condolences and are sorry for the domestic violence case that occurred in Semarang City, causing the victim to die," he said.

He said the domestic violence case had been coordinated with the Tembalang Police and handled by the Seruni Semarang PPT Task Force in Tembalang District.

Bintang continued, KemenPPPA has also coordinated with the Central Java Province Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning (DP3AKB), the Central Java Province Women and Children Protection Integrated Service Unit (SPT PPA), and the Semarang Seruni Integrated Service Center (PPT).

The case of domestic violence in Semarang occurred on October 23, 2022, at around 06.30.

The incident started with an argument between the perpetrator, namely the husband with the initials DM (27) and the victim (23). Then the perpetrator strangled the victim until the victim died.

The victim left a 6-year-old child who is currently being treated by the victim's mother. Meanwhile, the perpetrator has been detained at the Candisari Police.
