Electric Cars Hyundai IONIQ And Kona Officially Paved In Indonesia
JAKARTA - PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) officially brought their two brand-new electric cars to Indonesia. Both are Hyundai IONIQ and Kona, which are sold starting at Rp. 600 million.
"Hyundai is trying to create innovation and be a solution in the future for those who want to be at the forefront of innovation, and start an electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia," said HMDI President Director Sung Jong Ha in a virtual launch event, Friday, November 6.
In fact, IONIQ is not the first electric car that Hyundai brought to Indonesia. Given that at the beginning of this year, Hyundai has indeed operated IONIQ as an electric vehicle through its collaboration with online taxi service Grab.
This car is equipped with a 38.3 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery with a maximum output of 100 kW or the equivalent of 134 horsepower with 295 Nm of torque. Having a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) electric motor with front wheel drive (2WD), makes the IONIQ sedan accelerate from 0-100m in 9.9 seconds.
This electric car can cover a distance of about 311 to 373 km on a single charge. Hyundai claims this electric car can fully charge from zero to 80 percent in 54 minutes, using an output of 100 kW.
Meanwhile, Kona Electric is an electric car in the compact Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment. The exterior looks bold with a sleek closed grille, paired with Kona's signature twin full-LED headlights.
Kona Electric is equipped with a 39.2 kWh lithium ion battery that can travel 345 km on a single charge. The efficiency of the electric consumption of this car is 0.15 kWh per km.
For the price, IONIQ is priced from Rp.624.8 million for the Prime type and Rp.664.8 million for the Siqnature type, with four color variants. Meanwhile, Kona Electric is only offered in one variant for Rp. 674.8 million.
Each product will be equipped with a portable Hyundai charghing that can be plugged into a home power source. HMID also provides a battery warranty for 8 years or 160 thousand km.
