SOE Minister Officially Appoints Muhamad Akbar As President Director Of Krakatau Steel

JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir officially appointed Muhamad Akbar as President Director of PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk.

This appointment was determined at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS).

The EGMS of PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk was held today, Monday, December 16 with the agenda of changing the composition of the Company's management.

"At today's EGMS, Muhamad Akbar was appointed as President Director definitively based on the decision of the results of the meeting," said M Tantra Maulana's Corporate Secretary in an official statement, Monday, December 16.

In addition, the Ministry of SOEs has also appointed Wilgo Zainar as an Independent Commissioner.

Meanwhile, the ranks of KBUMN directors appointed Utomo Nugroho as Director of Infrastructure and Operations and Hernowo as Director of Commercial, Business Development and Portfolio.

For your information, Muhamad Akbar was previously the Commercial Director of Krakatau Steel which was appointed on July 31, 2023. Before working as a director at Krakatau Steel, Akbar was the President Director of PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera (PT KBS) or Krakatau International Port.

In addition to taking part in PT KBS, Akbar has also served as President Director at Krakatau Steel Group several times, namely at PT Krakatau Niaga Indonesia in 2019, then serving as President Director of PT Krakatau Global Trading in 2020.

Akbar currently also serves as Chairman of IISIA (Indonesia Iron & Steel Industry Association) and also Chairman of ALFI (Indonesian Logistics and Forwarder Association), and has held the position of Head of Logistics and Supply Chains Agency in the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) and the Board of Trustees at the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI).
