Jabodebek LRT Aus Wheel Problems, Minister Of Transportation: We Will Change And Make Rail Repairs

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said his party together with operators would change the wheels of the Jabodebek LRT.

This change of wheels is a medium-term plan prepared related to the problem of the Jabodebek LRT.

This is done by dissolving wheels and smoothing surface profiles and giving lubricant liquids to Jabodebek LRT rails.

"But in the medium term we will change wheels and also repair rails," he said after a Working Meeting with Komsis V DPR RI, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 21.

With the change of wheels of this train, Budi hopes to ensure the operation of 16 Jabodebek LRT trainsets in early December 2023. Currently, 12 trainsets have been operated from previously only 8.

"The plan is that on December 1, 2023, 16 trainsets will be operational. So that the headway will also be short for songs, every 20 minutes," he said.

Previously, the Chairman of Commission V of the DPR, Lasarus, said that the case of the Jabodebek Integrated Highway (LRT) case because the Jabodebek LRT arch bridge was built was not in accordance with the recommendations. The Jabodebek LRT itself has only been operating for about two months.

The Jabodebek LRT arch bridge in the Kuningan area was also in the public spotlight.

Lasarus admitted that he received a report on the condition of the Jabodebek LRT wheel which was fast. However, he admitted that he had not conducted a direct review to see the condition of the Jabodebek LRT train.

"There is information that we received but this is still just a submission, we have not conducted a field review and a meeting with experts that the arch made by the LRT operator is not in accordance with the recommendations submitted by the Ministry, thus making this wheel speedy," said Lasarus.

Lasarus mengatakan sebagai moda transportasi terbaru, LRT Jabodebek ini akan banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat pada masa libur Natal 2023 dan Tahun Baru 2024. Karena itu, Lasarus meminta agar Kementerian Perhubungan memperhatikan lebih lanjut kasus ausnya roda kereta tersebut.

"Because this LRT is also one of the things that will be widely used when people are off. I think we also need attention," he said.
