Reviewing The UGM GIK Building Rehabilitation Project, This Is Minister Basuki's Message

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono reviewed the rehabilitation of two educational facility infrastructures in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), recently.

One of them is in the area of the Innovation and Creativity Center (GIK) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).

Minister Basuki advised the implementers to increase natural elements, such as rocks, wood, and greener plants.

"Pay attention to the quality of the work, it's not enough to be neat, don't forget the aesthetic elements in it," said Basuki in an official statement received by VOI, Thursday, October 26.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Infrastructure and Settlement Center (BPPW) of DIY, Directorate General of Human Settlements, Jonny Zainuri Echsan, said that the construction of the GIK UGM Building area consists of eight zones designed to be used as a means of strengthening human resources (HR) as well as student facilities from various faculties.

"The GIK UGM area will begin construction in June 2022. Currently, the physical progress has reached 72 percent. The implementing contractor PT Waskita-Amarta KSO, multiyear contract (MYC) continues, with a contract value of IDR 607.3 billion," he concluded.

In addition to reviewing the UGM Innovation and Creativity Center (GIK) Building area, Basuki also visited the New Building of the Yogyakarta Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNU). The construction of the Yogyakarta UNU New Building has been carried out by the Ministry of PUPR since October 2021 and has been completed in June 2023.

The building, which has a building area of 16,769.19 square meters, is projected to accommodate 3,774 students and 151 lecturers.
