Telkom Ensures Network Optimization For The U-17 World Cup

JAKARTA - PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) through its subsidiary, Telkomsel ensures optimization of the broadband 4G/LTE and Hyper 5G networks in all stadium locations used, to support the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia.

Director of Network Telkomsel Nugroho in his statement, Thursday, October 26, said that Indonesia will make its debut as the host of the U-17 World Cup and is expected to be attended by around 10,000 to 18,000 visitors who will fill the stadium in every match.

"This has the potential to encourage a significant spike in communication service traffic, including preparations for the opening ceremony at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya and the final match at the Manahan Stadium in Surakarta," he said, quoted from Antara.

According to him, as the leading digital connectivity enabler in Indonesia, Telkomsel has ensured the readiness of networks that provide convenience in digital connectivity for all.

"For all official teams, journalists, tourists, both domestic and foreign, as well as the surrounding community, to be able to stay comfortable and smoothly communicate and share moments of excitement through various digital platforms," he said.

In addition, he said, his party also encourages the growth of national tourism by carrying out the spirit of accelerating the digital experience for all people and spectators from abroad.

"We have mapped a number of locations that have the potential to experience significant communication traffic growth during the implementation of the U-17 World Cup in four cities, including areas of training ground, shopping centers, media centers, transit points for transportation such as airports and stations, up to four main stadium areas for organizing the U-17 World Cup," said Nugroho.

Therefore, he said, his party is ready to support Indonesia's success as the host of state activities and international sports such as the U-17 World Cup.

"We continue to provide a leading digital experience and collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure the smoothness and comfort of all domestic and foreign supporters while watching the U-17 World Cup in person at all stadium locations," he said.
