Indonesia Pockets IDR 214 Trillion Business Cooperation With China

JAKARTA - Special Staff to the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Arya Sinulingga revealed, Indonesia managed to pocket business cooperation with the Chinese side reaching 13.7 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 214 trillion.

This cooperation was signed in line with the working visit of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) together with SOE Minister Erick to the Bamboo Curtain Country since Monday, October 16.

"To update the realization of the potential for BUMN cooperation in China, yesterday the total cooperation was 31 companies with China totaling 13.7 billion US dollars or around Rp. 214 trillion," he said at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 18.

Not only that, Arya also said, there is a potential for other cooperation to be explored in the green energy sector. The value of the cooperation being explored is IDR 450 trillion.

"Then the potential for other collaborations to be planned, again exploring Rp450 trillion, this is the development of green energy and others," he said.

According to Arya, this exploration of cooperation with China is based on the country's experience in green energy development.

China for green energy is quite good too. You should know that in China there are no more fuel motors, all electric motorcycles, some of their electric cars, and the development of green energy is quite large, good," he said.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Ad Interim Erick Thohir said he accompanied President Jokowi on a visit to China from 16 to 18 October.

He said, the Indonesia-China Business Forum Forum resulted in a cooperation agreement of up to 13.7 billion US dollars.

"If I saw earlier, this cooperation was extraordinary. Earlier, it was mentioned that the figure was 13.7 billion US dollars, which is already an agreement, but the potential is still 29 billion US dollars. This means that private-private relations, private SOEs and BUMNs can also continue to be improved," said Erick.
