Israel-Palestinian Conflict Heats Up, Defend ID Makes Sure Not To Participate In Arms Supply

JAKARTA - The Holding of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) of the Defense Industry or Defense ID, confirmed that it did not participate in supplying weapons to Israel or Palestine. This is because weapons produced by SOEs should not be used for war.

As is known, the situation in Israel began to heat up after Hamas managed to carry out a surprise attack that killed nearly 500 people on Saturday, October 7. The attack was the deadliest in Israel over the past 50 years.

"Nothing yet, nothing yet, with Israel we do not have (a cooperation contract for arms export)," said Defend ID President Director Bobby Rasyidin at the Ministry of SOEs Jakarta, Tuesday, October 10.

Bobby said that the production of weapons from the Land SOE Holding must also be exported carefully. Moreover, he continued, the import approval was also through permission from the State, in this case the Ministry of Defense.

In addition, Bobby said, weapons production should not be used for war related to humanitarian conflicts.

"For us to export this, there must be a signature at the Ministry of Defense, if there is no permit we can't export it," he said.

Currently, said Bobby, the conflict between Israel and Palestine has not been classified by the United Nations (UN) security council. If later included in the category of humanitarian conflict, then Defend ID will not open the export work with the country.
