BDI in Denpasar Bali is Encouraged to Become the Center of the Creative Industry Ecosystem

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is encouraging the Industrial Training Center (BDI) in Denpasar, Bali, as the center of the national creative industry development ecosystem starting from animation, software, to workforce training.

"We continue to encourage BDI Denpasar and all education and training units within the Ministry of Industry to provide innovative services to the community and industrial players in order to build a national industry that is globally competitive," said the Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry, Masrokhan, in a statement. he wrote, quoted on Saturday, September 23.

Masrokhan said that BDI Denpasar was prepared to become the center of the national creative industry development ecosystem in the future.

This effort is through the development of five roles, namely the business incubator center for the animation industry, the software and content industry development center, the creative industry promotion and marketing center, the animation, programming, and design workforce training center, and the craft and design industry development center.

"To support this task, apart from the training room, BDI Depasar is also equipped with other facilities in the form of an animation and promotion building for holding business incubators, training, and exhibitions, then a design and fashion building, a Makerspace building, and several showrooms," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of BDI Denpasar Ali Khomaini said, apart from being a competency-based training center, BDI Denpasar is widely known in creative industry circles with its business incubator program through the innovator journey program and IP Bootcamp which has produced tenants and succeeded in building their businesses independently.

"Several achievements from the participants and tenants of the BDI Denpasar Business Incubator, including BDI Denpasar Training alumni who have produced Intellectual Property Rights for the characters of the animated story Si Uma," he said.

Apart from that, the tenant of the BDI Denpasar Business Incubator, namely the Digital Semotive startup, won 3rd place at the Bali Digifest 2023. Furthermore, the tenant of the Business Incubator in the Craft sector, namely Ethneeq, was the souvenir provider for the 2012 G20 Summit delegates in Nusa Dua, Bali.

On the other hand, inclusive programs are also held targeting people with disabilities for training, workshops, and providing technical and entrepreneurial skills.

As for 2023, his party is partnering with industry and other government agencies to hold training for community empowerment in several regions in Indonesia until mid-September 2023. A total of 2,450 participants have taken part in the training.

On the previous day, BDI Denpasar received a visit from a group of members of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) who were on a specific working visit.

These legislators directly inspected the facilities owned by BDI Denpasar, held discussions with BDI Denpasar tenants, and saw BDI Denpasar tenant products displayed at the event.

Mukhtarudin as Chair of the Special Working Visit Team of Commission VII DPR RI at BDI Denpasar expressed his appreciation of Commission VII DPR RI to the Head of BPSDMI and his staff who continue to play an active role in planning and implementing various programs directly related to the community, such as 3 in 1 Training.

"The hope is that BDI Denpasar can produce superior industrial human resources in the fields of creative industry, animation and digitalization in the future," he added.
