NUSA Dua - Head of the Production and Maintenance Division of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) Bambang Prayoga said that currently SKK Migas is developing a critical infrastructure system to mitigate the capabilities of oil and gas production support equipment and facilities.
He explained that the step was taken to ensure the reliability of equipment and production facilities in supporting production optimization.
"So far, there have been several problems in the management of production facilities, including lack of control, availability of equipment, capacity capacity capacity from infrastructure and economic challenges," said Bambang on the sidelines of a concurrent forum with the theme Advancing Oil and Gas Production Through Facility Management in 4th International Convention on Indonesian Upstream Oil and Gas (ICIUOG) 2023, Wednesday, September 22.
Bambang added, one of the crucial points to overcome these challenges is through a comprehensive data collection conducted by the Cooperation Contract Contract Contractors (KKKS) and SKK Migas. Through this data collection, a plan for monitoring and utilization of facilities or equipment will be determined in the future.
SKK Migas developed PC 2B, namely the criminal infrastructure system. This system is to make it easier for investors to make investment decisions. This can be directly monitored by KKKS," he explained.
Present at the same meeting, Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Director of Development and Production Awang Lazuardi stated that the maintenance of production facilities is also closely related to the sustainability of oil and gas block production in the future.
According to him, efforts to find reserves that are currently massive will be greatly influenced by their success with the availability of qualified production facilities.
"We have to maintain production, one way is maintenance facilities, so if there are new exploration findings, they can be used in the future," said Awang.
He explained that for the management of facilities, Pertamina and all subsidiaries in the upstream sector have implemented an integrated system so that they can detect which infrastructure can be used for field development or which will be decommissioned.
"We are committed to 1 million barrels per day, currently 68 percent oil, we implement the Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS), we have an asset evaluation system according to the future plan, development or commissioning," explained Awang.
