Customers Suicide After Being Terrorized By Debt Collector, Ada Kami Boss Will Completely Investigate

JAKARTA - Ada Kami's President Director of online loan provider (pinjol), Bernardino Moningka Vega Jr, has raised his voice regarding his customer who committed suicide after being in debt and terrorized by collectors. He said his party would participate in investigating this case.

Bernardino admitted that his party together with the Indonesian Joint Funding Fintech Association (AFPI) had previously fulfilled the summons of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on September 20, 2023 for the clarification process.

As a follow-up to this meeting, Bernardino said, Ada We will thoroughly investigate this case. However, he admitted that currently the investigation process has not been going well due to limited information regarding users.

"If there are parties who have related information, we ask to immediately contact Ada Kami via a call center at 15000-77 or Hello email @cs.adakami.id by attaching complete evidence," he said in an official statement received by VOI, Thursday, September 21.

Bernardino said the information was needed, because today there will be a follow-up meeting agenda with the OJK to explain the chronology and evidence based on the data collected factually.

Regarding the information circulating based on the upload of the @rakyatvsoinjol account which explained that the victim with the initials K, ended his life in May 2023, Ada Kami as the P2P Lending platform will follow up with efforts to obtain complete personal data such as full name, ID card number and mobile number.

"To check whether the victim is really Ada Kami's customer who has arrears and track the record of the collection process. This is in accordance with applicable procedures in terms of enforcing the KYC (know your customer) process for all Ada Kami service users," he said.

According to Bernardino, this personal data is key to the sustainability of a thorough investigation and to ensure that every activity that occurs on the Ada Kami platform is in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
