JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Second Minister for Trade and Industry Singapore Tan See Leng at the Office of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jakarta, today.
Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana said the signing of the MoU was related to low-energy carbon and cross-border electrical interconnection between Indonesia and Singapore.
"The MoU discusses the cooperation between electricity trading and low carbon. This is also a continuation of the ASEAN Meeting in Bali and this will increase interconnection in ASEAN," Dadan said as quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Friday, September 8.
Dadan said the cooperation also includes other things, such as the development of a commercial low-carbon energy project, including interconnections for cross-border electricity trade between Indonesia and Singapore, as approved by the governments of Indonesia and Singapore.
Then, exchange of information about regulatory policies and approvals as well as a framework to enable commercial cross-border electric trading projects.
Next, facilitate the development of cross-border electricity trading projects, including carbon credit in accordance with their respective laws and regulations.
"This MoU will be valid for five years and can be extended for the next five years," he said.
