Attract Indonesian Tourists, Taiwan Tourism Bureau Offers Attractive Promos

JAKARTA Taiwan's Tourism Bureau took advantage of the increase in the number of tourists from Indonesia by participating in the KOMPAS Travel Fair event which will be held on September 1-3, 2023 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE BSD).

It was recorded that from January to June 2023 there were 95,820 Indonesians who visited Taiwan.

Taiwan Tourism Bureau Director KL Office Abe Chou said 29 delegations They will hold two B2B work shops to promote Taiwan tourism. Namely on August 29, 2023 at The Westin Jakarta, and JW Marriott Hotel Medan on August 30, 2023.

The delegation group this time focuses on the 'Program of Acceleration and Expansion to Attract International Tourists', by providing the opportunity to get a lottery prize worth 5,000 Taiwan New Dollars (NTD) or equivalent to Rp. 2.5 million for tourists on vacation outside tour packages," Abe said in his statement, Saturday, September 2.

Abe added that the Taiwan Tourism Bureau will also provide subsidies worth 5,000 to 20,000 NTD to each overseas and domestic organization that regulates tourism groups, supports the tourism industry of Indonesia and Taiwan to increase the power of sending tourists.

He hopes that with this joint effort, he can achieve the target of 150,000 Indonesian tourists visiting Taiwan for 2023.

"In addition, it is also hoped that it can help achieve the target of 6 million tourists from around the world, even trying to surpass the number before the pandemic of 220,000 people," Abe continued.

In line with Abe Chou, Deputy Representative of Taiwan Economic and Trade Office in Indonesia, Steve Chen said that the subsidy in the form of a lottery prize of 5,000 NTD will be given to Indonesian citizens who come to Taiwan.

With this promotion, Taiwan as much as possible establishes better cooperation with Indonesia.

"For example, when we are trying to provide a Muslim-friendly environment. In the long term slowly but surely we provide a Muslim-friendly tourism environment by adding mosques, then also at the station there is a place of worship," said Steve.

He hopes that this step can attract many Muslim tourists to visit Taiwan.

Currently, there are 300,000 immigrant workers and 16,000 Indonesian students in Taiwan.

As of June, 90,000 Indonesian tourists have come to Taiwan.

With this collaboration, he hopes to achieve the target of 100,000 Indonesian tourists who come to Taiwan.

"It is also hoped that tourism will not only be used as a tourist, but can also invite families of immigrant workers or students to come to Taiwan to visit their families in Taiwan, maybe their children or fathers can travel," concluded Steve.
