The Jabodebek LRT Does Not Reach Bogor, This Is What Minister Of Transportation Budi Said

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi opened his voice about the Jabodebek LRT which has not been connected to Bogor.

Budi admitted that he could not confirm when this mode of transportation would be connected to the Rainy City area.

However, Budi said, since it was built in 2015, the Jabodebek LRT transportation project was planned for Bogor.

"It is planned to stay in Bogor. Because we don't want the construction not to be completed," Budi said when met at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 30.

Budi also said that the budget for connecting the Jabodebek LRT has not been allocated by the government for next year.

"Not yet, yes," said Budi.

For your information, currently the Jabodebek LRT serves two relations, namely Jakarta-Bekasi and Jakarta-Cibubur. This mode of transportation has not been connected to Bogor.

Bogor Residents Protest

Previously, Member of Commission V DPR Mulyadi highlighted the Jabodebek LRT which a few days ago was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

He questioned the naming of this mode of transportation.

Mulyadi said, the Jabodebek LRT was predicted to be a mass transportation that connects Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi areas. However, it does not reach the Bogor area.

This was conveyed by Mulyadi at the Commission V Working Meeting of the DPR RI with the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Wednesday, August 30.

"Congratulations, even though I protested, your LRT was launched. He called it Jabodebek, I protested a little, sir. Why? Because there is actually Bogor," said Mulyadi.

According to Mulyadi, if this mass transportation does not pass through the Bogor area, it should be called Jadebek, not Jabodebek.

Jadebek should have been, because the residents of Bogor protested to me because the LRT had not yet reached Bogor. But why is his name Jabodebek? Simple, but for us it is important, sir, because the name Bogor was brought," he said.
