Pertamina Boss Says Only Selling 3 Types Of Fuel In 2024, Pertalite Removed?

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) plans to only sell three fuel oil products (BBM) by 2024. The ones sold are Pertamax Green 92, Pertamax Green 95 and Pertamax Turbo.

President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati explained, Pertamax Green 92 is a mixture of Pertalite type fuel with an octane value of 90 with 7 percent ethanol and Pertamax Green 95 which is a mixture of Pertamax with 8 percent ethanol.

"So next year there will be only 3 products, first Pertamax Green 92 with mixed RON 90 with 7 percent ethanol or E7, secondly Pertamax Green 95 mix Pertamax with 8 percent ethanol and the third is Pertamax Turbo," Nicke said in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VII DPR RI, Wednesday, August 30.

Nicke explained that this was motivated by Pertamina's program, namely Langit Biru, which succeeded in removing RON 88 or Premium fuel and replacing it with Pertalite. For the second stage,

"We will continue according to the plan, this is a phase two blue sky program where our subsidized fuel will be increased from RON 90 to RON 92," added Nicke.

This is also related to the regulation of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) which states that the value of the octane that can be sold in Indonesia is a minimum of 91.

Nicke assessed that this program is very appropriate to be re-implemented in Indonesia because from an environmental perspective it can reduce carbon emissions, secondly, the bioethenol program is increasingly massive and thirdly can reduce gasoline imports that have been carried out by Indonesia.

"So later there will be two low-carbon green gasolines that will become pertamina products," concluded Nicke.
