Mount Mount Capital, Entrepreneurs Only Get Tax Holidays And Allowances Of IDR 4.6 Trillion

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani revealed that in 2022 the total tax incentives for entrepreneurs in the form of tax holidays and tax allowances will be IDR 4.6 trillion.

The Minister of Finance detailed that the tax holiday was given to 184 investment companies, 174 of which were categorized as taxpayers (WP).

"The value of their investment is Rp. 285.8 trillion," he said in a working meeting with Commission XI of the DPR, Tuesday, August 30.

Meanwhile, tax allowances are given to 265 investment companies with 213 are taxpayers.

A total of 265 companies that received tax allowances were IDR 85.7 trillion. So the combination of tax holidays and tax allowances is more than IDR 370 trillion, but the tax incentives they enjoy are only IDR 4.6 trillion," he said.

The Minister of Finance added that the number of fiscal facilities obtained by big entrepreneurs was much smaller than incentives for the public directly and MSMEs.

In his explanation, the exemption from the Value Added Tax (VAT) for basic necessities last year reached IDR 38.6 trillion. Then the elimination of the service sector tax, especially education (school), which was exempted IDR 20.8 trillion. Meanwhile, the tax incentive for MSMEs called the Minister of Finance reached IDR 69.7 trillion.

"So the tax incentives are mostly enjoyed by the community directly," he said.
