Before Being Inaugurated, Jokowi Will Trial The Fast Train September 8, 2023

JAKARTA - The government is preparing the inauguration and operation of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Rail (KCJB) project for the general public.

Before being inaugurated, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will conduct a trial in early September.

This was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, after the inauguration of the Jabodebek LRT, Monday, August 28.

"Later on the 8th (September) President Jokowi will go up (for trial) with one of the prime ministers. Later on the 8th, we will try to check on the 6th, everything should be okay," said Luhut.

Luhut said President Jokowi wanted all stakeholders to try out this mass transportation before it was inaugurated.

Given, this transpotation will be the first in the ASEAN region.

"The inauguration will be later, I think the President wants everyone to try like this first. Yes, it's gradual," he said.

In addition, Luhut said the progress of preparations for the inauguration and operation of the fast train went well and found no problems.

"It's good that there is no problem almost finished. I don't think there is a problem," he explained.

Trials Back To September

For your information, the Jakarta Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB) is planned to operate commercially in October 2023.

Initially, a limited trial or soft launching will be conducted on August 18, 2023. However, this trial schedule is delayed to September.

"According to government directives, the plan for pre-operative trials will take place starting in early September 2023. At that time, people can try the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train without being charged," said General Manager of the Indonesia-China High-speed Train Corporate Secretary (KCIC) Eva Chairunisa.

Eva explained that the delay in the limited free trial schedule was to ensure that the trial program during the pre-operation period of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train could run well.

As the first mode of high-speed rail transportation in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, Eva continued, the operation of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train requires very careful preparation.

"Currently, PT KCIC continues to make preparations on various sides," he said.
