Minister Of Trade Zulhas French Lobby Opens Access To Indonesian Agricultural Products To Europe

JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan is known to have held a bilateral meeting with French Trade Minister Olivier Becht on the sidelines of the agenda of the G20 Minister of Trade and Industry (Trad and Investment Ministerial Meeting/TIMM) in Jaipur, India.

It was stated that the meeting discussed the potential business growth of the two countries, which has now reached 3 billion euros.

Trade Minister Zulhas, Zulkifli Hasan's nickname, revealed that the Indonesian government will not hinder European Union products, especially France, and invites more French businessmen to seek business opportunities with Indonesian entrepreneurs.

Many French companies are investing in Indonesia. We will help business actors of the two countries to establish cooperation and improve trade relations between Indonesia and France," he said in a press release today, Sunday, August 27.

Zulhas explained that Indonesia will strengthen support from France in order to ensure that there are no obstacles to accessing the Indonesian products market in the region.

But on the other hand, the European Union issued a European Union Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR) that threatens farmers in Indonesia," he said.

Zulhas also asked France for support so that the Regional Comprehensive Economic Agreement negotiations between Indonesia and the European Union (IEUCEPA) would be completed quickly.
