PLN Distributes 50 MVA High Voltage Electricity To Fertilizer Factory In East Kalimantan

PT PLN (Persero) supplies electricity of 50 Megavolt amperes (MVA) for the needs of the cement industry PT Kobexindo Cement.

The first voltage (energy) also marks Kobexindo as PLN's first High Voltage Consumer (KTT) in East Kalimantan.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said PLN is committed to making electrical energy the driver of the economy. This is evidenced by the increasing number of customers from the industrial sector who entrust their electricity supply to PLN.

"The rise in electricity consumption from the industrial sector is a positive signal for Indonesia's economic growth. We at PLN are certainly ready to support economic growth with reliable electricity supply," said Darmawan in a written statement, Friday, August 4.

Meanwhile, General Manager of PLN Main Distribution Unit of East Kalimantan and North Kalimantan, Joice Lanny Wantania, revealed that the presence of Kobexindo as a high-voltage customer can be a multiplier effect on the economy of the surrounding community.

Apart from Kobexindo, he said, there are still two more companies that will become PLN's high-voltage customers in East Kalimantan this year and 2024.

The merger of Kobexindo is proof of PLN's seriousness in providing electricity infrastructure for the industrial sector. This also shows the confidence of investors to develop their business with PLN's electricity support," said Joice.

Joice also ensures that PLN has sufficient power reserves to meet the electricity needs of high-voltage customers throughout East Kalimantan.

"The entry of the summit certainly requires a lot of electrical energy absorption in the electricity system in East Kalimantan. Currently, the electricity reserves are in sufficient condition and we will continue to increase infrastructure in East Kalimantan and Kaltara to support industrial growth," he concluded.
