Hutama Karya Wins New Contract Of IDR 15.80 Trillion During Semester I-2023

JAKARTA - The construction company PT Hutama Karya (Persero) won a new contract of IDR 15.80 trillion in Semester I-2023.

The new contract grew up to 171 percent on an annual basis (yoy) compared to the achievements in the same period in 2022.

EVP Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said, to encourage construction performance, companies are more selective in participating in tenders and focus on selecting new contracts to ensure sufficient margins to increase the company's profitability.

"As of June 2023, we have pocketed a new contract of IDR 15.80 trillion. The segment that contributed the largest to the company's new contract acquisition was sourced from the road and bridge sector (88.76 percent) of the total value of the new contract, followed by the building sector (3.76 percent)," said Tjahjo through a press release received by VOI, Thursday, August 3.

In addition, the performance of the public construction project sector and buildings has also increased, especially in the State Capital (IKN) projects, which this year the company has started working on the IKN Toll Road project access 3A Karangjoang-KKT Kariangau and the Coordinating Ministry Building Project (Kemenko) 2 at IKN.

Outside IKN, Hutama Karya has also started working on the Bayung Lencir-Tempino- Jambi Toll Road Section 3, to the Jakarta Sewerage Development Project Package 6.

Tjahjo said, until the first semester of 2023, SOE projects still dominate the acquisition of Hutama Karya's new contract with a contribution of 77.22 percent, followed by the government at 19.59 percent, and the private sector at 3.19 percent.

"Hutama Karya is optimistic that he can continue to pursue the new contract target in 2023 according to the target," he said.

In terms of assignment, this year Hutama Karya targets 80 km of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) to be built.

As for the first semester of 2023, Hutama Karya has increased the operations of the Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung Toll Road and the Sigli Banda-Aceh Toll Road section 5-6.

To pursue the realization of the target until the end of the year, Hutama Karya has prepared a number of strategies, starting from continuing investment cooperation for the JTTS Besar Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung (Terpeka) section, planning to take over the Bocimi and Kayu Agung-Betung toll roads, to prepare for the Indralaya-Prabumulih toll road operation.

"The company continues to improve the quality of construction products to provide added value for the company's portfolio, as well as increase efforts to efficiency in operating expenses. This good performance is a strong capital for Hutama Karya to contribute to IKN development in East Kalimantan," he concluded.
