The Ministry Of PUPR Will Repair Daendels Road This Year

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will repair Jalan Daendels on the South Coast of Java Island.

This improvement is planned to take place this year.

Commitment Making Officer (PPK) 2.4 Central Java, Central Java National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) - Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), Jutika Aditya Nugraha, revealed that this repair process had entered the auction stage.

"God willing, Jalan Daendels will be repaired this year," he told the media in Magelang quoted on Saturday, June 8.

He did not specify the length of the road to be repaired.

However, he ensured, the road was in good status.

Just so you know, Daendels Pansela Street is spread from Cilacap Regency, Central Java to border areas with DIY with a length of about 130 kilometers.

On the same occasion, Justika also explained the condition of the television road in Central Java and DIY Provinces.

According to him, the current road safety conditions for the two provinces have reached 92 percent.

This figure has decreased from the previous year's 95 percent.

He explained that this was because there were several provincial roads whose status was raised to a national road so that they were ready to meet the decline.

"For example, in Muntilan, Jalan Army Students were lifted from provincial roads to national roads in accordance with the 2023 National Road Decree so that their face down," continued Justika.

Previously, the plan to repair Daendels Street was revealed by the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo.

Ganjar said that the repair of Daendels Street in the Kebumen or South Coast (Pansela) is planned to start this year.

The status of the road that had become a debate is now clear and will be given into a district road.

"The Kebumen is at most the problem of Daendels Street. After we checked, it turned out that the road was no man. The center is not, the province is not, the district is not. Everyone is angry through there. Especially when the South Line was built. Now the status is clear, entering the district road," said Ganjar during the Musrenbangwil Barlingmascakeb at the Kebumen Regency Hall, Monday, March 20.

He said, Jalan Daendels was no longer categorized as damaged but immoral.

Moreover, Ganjar continued, improvements cannot be made due to unclear road ownership status.
