JAKARTA - PT Transport Jakarta or TransJakarta targets as many as 100 electric buses to operate, by the end of this year.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that the 100 electric buses could be realized no later than the fourth quarter or by the end of this year.
"We expect 100 units of electric buses (which operate) for this year," Syafrin told reporters at The Convergence Indonesia, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 13.
According to Syafrin, as many as 100 electric buses are actually targets in 2022 and the target in 2023 is actually 190 buses.
However, if the target of 190 units is still realized in 2023, it is likely to be more expenditure than income.
"This year, we expect 100 units of electric buses to be operational in TransJakarta. We are adjusting to the target, don't let the pegs be big than poles," he said.
Until now, said Syafrin, there are an additional 70 electric buses from three operators that have entered into contracts. The three operators are PT Mayasari Bakti, PT Bianglala, and the Djakarta Transportation Company (PPD) which recently merged with Perum Damri.
"We hope that these three operators will soon realize the electric bus, no later than the fourth quarter," he said.
