JAKARTA - The Ministry of SOEs together with BUMN PT PGN Tbk and PT KAI (Persero) held an MSME Bazaar for Indonesia in order to help market MSME products including energy-friendly products to enter the global market. This bazaar is also a form of BUMN support for the Government of Indonesia in encouraging people to love local MSME products to increase in class and be competitive.

Referring to the 'Local Bazaar', the MSME bazaar is located at the Plaza Sarinah Floor Basement. The event was inaugurated by Expert Staff for Finance and MSME Development of the Ministry of SOEs, Loto Srinaita Ginting, accompanied by PGN Commissioner Warih Sadono, President Director of PT KAI (Persero) Didiek Hartantyo, and PGN Director of Sales and Operations Faris Aziz.

The bazaar lasted for 4 days on May 25-28, 2023, involving MSMEs from various regions in Indonesia ranging from fashion, handicrafts, and culinary products.

The UMKM bazaar event collaborates with different SOEs. The fifth event is the main supporters of PGN and KAI. This event is a marketing platform for MSMEs. So products from outside the region can be facilitated in Sarinah whose visitors are not only Jakarta residents. Many foreign tourists in Jakarta who are in Sarinah can see MSME products in this bazaar," said Expert Staff for Finance and MSME Development of the Ministry of SOEs, Loto Srinaita Ginting.

Loto added that not only the bazaar event in Sarinah, it is hoped that MSMEs fostered by SOEs can enter the Sarinah department store. SOEs also provide digital platforms, PADI UMKM, as a shopping platform for SOE needs. It is hoped that the ecosystem that has been formed by SOEs can really benefit MSMEs to advance to class and be tough.

According to PGN Commissioner Warih Sadono, PGN continues to be encouraged to pay attention to the policies of the Ministry of SOEs, in addition to the transformation of the BUMN industry as well as the development of the MSME industry.

We encourage MSMEs to move actively and competitively. One of them is the PGN natural gas network (jargas) program that continues to run and enter the household industry. The Jargas provides environmentally friendly energy that can help MSME actors in homes, such as MSMEs FnB, catering, rattan industries such as in Cirebon. It would be nice to synergize, if it has been passed by jargas, it can help MSME actors. PGN itself has a gas network from Sabang to Papua. Competing gas prices can help MSMEs be more efficient, thereby increasing the margin range for MSME actors," said Warih.

Natural gas can also be a competitive and environmentally friendly alternative energy, with domestic sources.

The MSME bazaar in Sarinah can be a socialization event to introduce PGN more widely. Given the large number of visitors from various circles and regions. PGN can at the same time introduce energy-friendly products for MSMEs. This is in line with PGN's contribution according to ESG's principle in helping bring quality, competitive products and expanding the MSME market around the PGN operating area.

This event is very fitting, because young people in particular use their own domestic products more. Local products need to be promoted by SOEs, including PGN. PGN is not alone, with the support of the Ministry of SOEs, many things are realized," added Faris.

PGN's MSMEs in the fashion sector that were present in the bazaar were Garut Hendar Weaving where visitors could practice directly for weaving, Rahayu Akarwangi, Nayla Craft, Onie Craft, Batik Blocking, Kharisma Shell, Star Art, and Karya Jaya. There are also culinary delights such as Multipangan Sehat - Serella Food, Serabi Puan, Sanrah Food, DSAL - Cangcomak, and Ninikus Muncur Tiram.

In 2024, the President of the Republic of Indonesia Ir. Joko Widodo announced the target of achieving Go Digital MSMEs by 30 million users. So that the role of MSMEs is very vital in driving Indonesia's economic growth, with the number reaching 99 percent of the total business units. The contribution of MSMEs to GDP reaches 60.5 percent, and employment of 96.9 percent of the total national employment workforce.

"Not all MSMEs can be present at the Sarinah storefront. For this reason, we encourage MSMEs assisted by PGN to participate in enlivening digital platforms with the Ministry of SOEs in expanding the presence of local products in the market," said Faris.

President Director of PT KAI Didiek Hartantyo agrees that SOEs are committed to growing Indonesian MSMEs up in class. In total, KAI's fostered MSMEs are 768 from Aceh to Banyuwangi. We also encourage and participate in the digital market as suppliers and buyers.

We dedicate 30 percent of the space station to MSMEs. Like Gambir, Senen, and other big stations. We will continue to support MSMEs so that they can advance to class to global through the digital platform," concluded Didiek.

The Ministry of SOEs and SOEs has supported MSMEs quite a lot. The training was carried out for MSMEs to advance through 233 BUMN houses spread throughout Indonesia. Training activities such as packaging, sales techniques, and sales methods are expanded online.

The need for contributions and collaboration from all parties is also very much needed in presenting integrated solutions for the development of MSMEs in Indonesia in terms of promotion and market access. Therefore, the MSME Bazaar for Indonesia PGN collaboration with KAI with the theme Local Bazaar fun' is expected to help MSME players. to expand market access and promote product excellence.
