BPS Records Export Value Of West Sumatra Capai 189.55 Million US Dollars

PADANG - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Sumatra (West Sumatra) recorded the export value of the province amounting to US $ 189.55 million during March 2023.

Head of the West Sumatra BPS, Sugeng Arianto, said that the most widely exported goods in March 2023 were vegetable animal fats and oils with a value of 149.25 million US dollars.

Then followed by groups of plant materials amounting to 10.45 million US dollars, and rubber and rubber goods amounting to 7.03 million US dollars.

The largest export destination country in March 2023, to Bangladesh, amounting to USD 38.04 million, then to Pakistan amounting to USD 37.92 million and India amounting to USD 28.52 million.

He said the number of exports in March 2023 had decreased by 14.79 percent compared to exports in February 2023.

"This export from West Sumatra decreased by 23.98 percent compared to the same period in 2022," he said as quoted by Antara, Sunday, May 14.

Meanwhile, for the period January to March 2023, 78.15 percent were exports of animal or vegetable fat and oil groups and various chemical products played a role of 4.19 percent.

Meanwhile, the import value of West Sumatra in March 2023 was 49.48 million US dollars and an increase of 87.73 percent compared to imports in February 2023.

"The largest class of imported goods in March 2023 was mineral fuel of 38.66 million US dollars," he said.
