Together With The First Lady, The Director General Of Human Settlements Checks The Infrastructure Of The ASEAN Summit

JAKARTA - Ahead of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Indonesian First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo together with the Director General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Diana Kusumastuti reviewed the readiness of Puncak Waringin as one of the supporting infrastructures of the ASEAN Summit.

The peak of Waringin itself was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo in October 2021. Its construction is intended as a creative hub and a souvenir center that carries local wisdom.

In the holding of the 42nd ASEAN Summit, Puncak Waringin will be used as a venue for the Spouse Program.

Director General of Human Settlements Diana Kusumastuti advised to continue to pay attention to the neatness and beauty of the Puncak Waringin area in preparation for the 42nd ASEAN Summit.

"Towards the implementation of the ASEAN Summit, please pay attention to the neatness. If there is a tall tree that blocks the view, please trim the trimming to make it neater," said Diana Kusumastuti in a written statement, Monday, May 8.

With this direct review by the First Lady of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of PUPR hopes that the Puncak Waringin Area will be more functional in supporting the holding of the 42nd ASEAN Summit.

The work of Puncak Waringin includes the construction of souvenir centers, weaving houses, amphitheaters, green open spaces and parking areas. The area was built in August 2019-March 2021 by the Directorate General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR with a budget of IDR 28.9 billion.
