Minister Of Finance Sri Mulyani: Realization Of Health Budget Increases 28.1 Percent As Of March 2023

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani revealed that the realization of the budget in the health sector increased by 28.1 percent as of March 2023.

The government noted that it had realized a budget in the health sector of IDR 28.5 trillion.

"If we look at the last 3 years, it is already higher than in 2021 when the pandemic occurred, it is higher than 2022 which is only IDR 22.2 trillion. In fact, it is close to spending on a very high pandemic in 2021. Therefore, we see our health spending growing 28.1 percent even though the pandemic has been declared a transition to endemic," Sri Mulyani said in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, April 18.

For the use of the budget in the health sector through ministry/institutional expenditures (K/L), Sri Mulyani said it was IDR 18.3 trillion. Through non-K/L spending of IDR 2.5 trillion, while through regional transfer expenditure (TKD) of IDR 8.9 trillion.

Utilization through TKD spending for operations 9,016 puskesmas, 5,140 KB counseling centers, provision of anthropometric equipment at 4,965 health centers, construction of KB counseling center 1,017 units, and Bina Keluarga Balita (BKB) Kit Stunting amounting to 10,280 units

In addition, Sri Mulyani also explained the realization of the budget for other priority fields.

For the food security sector, it is 5.5 trillion. This figure decreased by 1.8 percent. For utilization through K/L spending, it was IDR 5.4 trillion, and TKD was IDR 0.1 trillion.

"We issued Rp5.5 trillion, which decreased slightly from the previous year. Its utilization started from building dams, irrigation networks, to providing assistance to farmers, and also to agricultural insurance because they face uncertain seasons," he explained.

For the social sector, the Government helped IDR 74.7 trillion, or decreased by 7.7 percent compared to last year. Utilization through K/L spending of IDR 35.9 trillion, through non-K/L spending of IDR 37.5 trillion, and TKD spending of IDR 1.1 trillion.

Sri Mulyani then explained that the realization of the budget in the field of education reached Rp. 119.1 trillion. This figure has increased by 29.9 percent. Utilization through K/L spending of Rp. 28.3 trillion, through non-K/L spending of Rp. 249.4 billion, and TKD spending of Rp. 75.5 trillion.

"For education spending, there has been an extraordinary increase, 29.9 percent has increased from last year, and judging from the level of Rp. 119 trillion, it is the highest level in the last 5 years. Its utilization starts from teaching salaries, scholarships, school operating costs, to allowances for civil servant and non-civil servant professions," said Sri Mulyani.

In the infrastructure sector, the Government has realized a thematic budget of 42.4 trillion, a slight increase of 1.8 percent.

For its utilization, Rp. 22.4 trillion was used through K/L spending, Rp. 14.0 trillion through TKD, and through financing of Rp. 6.0 trillion for distribution of housing financing to 16,647 housing units.

"We also build clean water facilities because this is very much needed by the community so that they can grow and be healthy by getting access to clean water," he concluded.
