Anti-Corruption Declaration: Komdigi Will Rebuild Public Trust

JAKARTA - Commemorating World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia), all officials of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs led by the Minister of Trade, Meutya Hafid, made an anti-corruption declaration on Tuesday, December 17.

Held At The Education and Training Center (Pusdiklat) Kemkomdigi, Meutya emphasized the importance of integrity and digitization as an effective step in preventing and eradicating corruption within the government, especially the Ministry of Communication and Industry.

"As part of the government, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs certainly plays a central role in building a digital system that supports the prevention of corruption," said Meutya. Digital transformation is not only a tool for modernization but also a powerful weapon in eradicating corruption.

He added that organizational structure reform at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, including the establishment of the Directorate of Digital Administration and the Directorate of Digital Space Supervision, is a concrete step to maximize the digitization function in public services.

In addition, this declaration also shows a form of Komdigi's responsibility in building public trust through reform and strengthening a more secure and transparent digital system.

Because according to Meutya, Komdigi has gone through three major problems, namely the 4G Base Transceiver Station (BTS) corruption involving former Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate, Temporary National Data Center firecrackers (PDNS), and Komdigi employees who rank online gambling activities.

"There are three steep stones that we have gone through, and that is our record in the future in 2025 so that God willing, 2025 will be the year when Kondigi's name can be seen more properly by the community," he said.

However, Meutya Hafid reminded that technology alone is not enough. The integrity of human resources (HR) is the main key to success in eradicating corruption.

"So earlier when we talked about digitization, we talked about changing the system and governance and organizational structure. If we are human beings, we don't want to change, then all of this will be in vain," he said.

Finally, the Minister of Trade also expressed optimism that this change in structure and focus of the ministry will bring significant improvements in the future.
