JAKARTA - YouTube seems to be testing a new feature, where users can lock their screen while watching videos on the platform.

Called Lock Screen or Lock Screen, this newly developed feature can be tested by YouTube Premium users who are selected as invitees.

The Lock Screen feature can be activated by users when watching videos in full screen mode. According to YouTube, the feature disables touch input when watching videos.

"The Key Screen disables touch input while watching a video so accidental beats don't pause, pass, or interfere with videos," YouTube said on its experimental page.

In this way, Premium YouTube users don't have to worry about bridging, speeding up or disrupting videos in other ways.

Users with Android and iOS devices can try it out until July 30. The invitation notification will come directly with the label 'Try a new feature' and appear at the top of the app home page.

If not, users can register by tapping on the profile photo in the upper right corner, open the Premium benefit, click Try a new feature. Next, under the option Avoid accidental tapping with the Lock Screen, tap the Try button.

To use this feature, tap the gear icon in the upper left corner when playing the video in full screen mode, then select the Lock Screen, as quoted from the Android Authority, Friday, July 7.

In addition, users can also send input to YouTube based on experience with this experimental feature. The Lock Screen feature is also available in streaming services, such as Netflix.

Recently, YouTube was also reportedly testing a new policy for users to enable ad blocking globally.
