JAKARTA - TikTok has just launched their search feature #NewMusic, as a special platform for artists around the world to perform new songs and fans can find their favorite songs.

The company says Search Hub #NewMusic will act as a destination for new music, highlighting new releases and making it easier for fans to find the latest songs from new and established artists.

"Search Hub #NewMusic allows fans to find the best new music, often before it is heard elsewhere," TikTok said in an official release, quoted Monday, May 15.

"While providing platforms for newcomer and established artists to develop their fan base and connect with their audience. Find "New Music" on TikTok and try it yourself!," he added.

Furthermore, TikTok has also partnered with singer Jonas Brothers and Miguel for the launch of the feature.

"This feature presents an exciting opportunity to inspire artist creativity, trigger connections, and grow diverse music landscapes that include unique talents and desires from artists and fans around the world," said Paul Hourican, Global Head of Music Operations on TikTok.

The China-based social media giant stated that currently the NewMusic hashtag has amassed more than 18 billion views.

In recent years, TikTok has revealed that hashtags have become an option for new releases and previews from studios and artists around the world who choose to share their newest singles first on TikTok.

To view new music in this feature, users must enter #NewMusic in the search bar and from there they can click on hubs and special hashtags.
