JAKARTA - UENA, a hyperlocal online F&B startup in Indonesia, is getting new funding with an unnamed nominal led by East Ventures, which is also an investor in the previous funding round and Trihill Capital, as a new investor at this funding round.

This funding will be used to continue to develop locations and services to reach more and more users and customers.

After undergoing and implementing our idea, we feel lucky to have seen the validation of the market. The majority of our orders come from re-orders and the number of orders from loyal customers continues to increase from month to month. Even though it has only been operating for less than a year, several early stores have reached the break-even stage and have a healthy level of payback. This new funding adds to our confidence to continue to capture good opportunities in the future, said Alvin Arief, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of UENA.

Since its launch in August 2022 by Alvin Arief and Roy Yohanes (Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer), UENA has opened 7 kitchen locations in Jakarta and has served more than 300,000 servings. Customers can order the UENA directly through the UENA application or through the TENA WhatsApp number.

The UENA does not rely on online motorcycle taxi messaging services because more than 80 percent of orders come directly. Each kitchen location only serves a hyperlocal radius of 1 - 1.5 km and handles delivery internally to minimize delivery costs and times. In general, customers will receive orders within 15 minutes of making orders.

We are happy to be able to invest in the UENA again. We believe in the problems and solutions focused on by Alvin and Roy when we first made investments. After a few months, the idea turned into a belief through a response from the market. We are very excited to continue to support the UENA and participate in innovation in the daily food industry in Indonesia," said Jordy Tenka, Investment Professional East Ventures.

The UENA aims to provide quality food service solutions at affordable prices through online delivery. The UENA uses an efficient cloud kitchen format and utilizes technology and economic scale to improve quality and reduce prices at the same time.

Daily food is a very interesting segment with a limited number of menus as consumers generally return to some of the same staple menus. This brings a high volume to each product, where we can maximize operational efficiency and large purchases," said Roy Yohanes, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of TENA.

On the other hand, UENA is preparing to expand and double the location of the kitchen in Jakarta. Each kitchen location is presented with a low capital, fast preparation process, and flexibility in using a variety of room sizes.

UENA will also continue to add more and more new menus to increase repeated orders from customers, to cover a wide range of daily and few-day meals throughout the week.
