JAKARTA - Google plans to make its search engine more "visual, snackable, personal, and humane," focusing on serving the younger generation globally. This was revealed according to a Wall Street Journal report on Saturday, May 6.

This step comes as artificial intelligence (AI) applications such as ChatGPT become increasingly popular, highlighting technologies that can change the way businesses and society operate.

Giant tech companies will keep their services away from "10 blue links," which is a traditional format of presentation of search results and plan to combine more human voices as part of the shift, the report said.

At the upcoming annual I/O developer conference in the next few weeks, according to the WSJ, Google is expected to introduce a new feature that allows users to have conversations with the AI program, a project with the code name "Magi".

AI's genrative has become the popular word this year, as the app captures people's attention and triggers revival among companies to launch similar products that they believe will change the nature of the work.

Google, part of Alphabet Inc., did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment on the report.
