JAKARTA - Snapchat's parent company, Snap Inc recorded an increase in daily active users by 15 percent year-on-year to 383 million users.

"Our community continues to grow, reaching 383 million daily active users in Q1, and we are working to deepen engagement with our content platform while building innovative new features and services like My AI," said Evan Spiegel, CEO of Snapchat.

Currently, the company is focusing its performance on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Last week, Snapchat launched OpenAI and MyAI-powered chatbots, which allow users to chat with bots individually or in groups.

However, Snapchat's innovation doesn't seem to run smoothly. Snapchat's chatbot was flooded with one star, because according to TechCrunch records, many users gave bad reviews and called for the removal of the chatbot.

To increase revenue, in June last year, Snap also introduced a subscription package called Snapchat+.

At a price of 4 US dollars (Rp59,000) per month, users gain initial access to new features to customers, as well as experimental and exclusive content.

According to reports, the company has earned 100 million US dollars (Rp1.47 billion) from 3 million users who have signed up for Snapchat+ since the service.

However, most of the company's revenue still comes from advertising.

"We are working to accelerate our revenue growth and we are using this opportunity to make significant improvements to our advertising platform to help drive an increase in profit over investment for our advertising partners," Spiegel added.
