The Head of the Puncak Jaya Police, AKBP Kuswara, confirmed the incident and said the shooting took place at the victim's house which also functions as a kiosk, located in Wuyukwi Village, Mulia District.

"It's true, the victim was shot by the KKB and died from gunshot wounds," said Kuswara when confirmed in Jayapura.

Regarding the security situation in the area, Kuswara explained that the current condition is still under control. However, police personnel are still on standby to anticipate the potential conflict due to tensions between the two groups supporting the regent and deputy regent pairs.

"Although relatively safe, we remain on standby due to friction between supporters related to the dispute over the election results," he explained.
