Saudi Arabian Authority Distributes 24 Million Foods For Iftar During Ramadan In Two Holy Mosques

JAKARTA - The General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque, Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque, Medina in collaboration with charitable organizations, distributed a total of 24,012,207 iftar foods during the Holy Month of Ramadan 1446 Hijri or 2025.

The authority stressed that the distribution process was carried out under advanced health measures and organizations in all designated areas.

This charitable initiative, which reflects the spirit of solidarity during this blessed month, was carried out by various entities under the supervision of the authorities, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) March 5.

In addition, this initiative aims to serve guests at the Two Holy Mosques while promoting values of affection and social cohesion.

Quoted by Gulf News, more than 122 million Muslims are expected to have flocked to the two mosques during the month of Ramadan this year. The details are around 92.1 million pilgrims at the Grand Mosque and 30.1 million worshipers at the Prophet's Mosque.

Furthermore, the Grand Mosque received more than 4 million worshipers, including about 800,000 Umrah pilgrims on the 26th day of Ramadan this year, setting a new record in one day, according to official data.

It is known, after carrying out Umrah, many pilgrims usually headed to Medina to perform prayers at the Prophet's Mosque and visit other important Islamic places in the city.
