The 2024 Southwest Papua Special Autonomy Fund Reaches IDR 1.86 Trillion, Distributed 100 Percent

The Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) noted that the distribution of the 2024 Special Autonomy (Otsus) funds for seven local governments in the Southwest Papua Province reached IDR 1.86 trillion.

"From January to December, the total ceiling of the Southwest Papua Special Autonomy Fund has been distributed 100 percent," said Head of the IIA Budget Implementation Section of the West Papua Ministry of Finance, Rudy Novianto, quoting Antara, Sunday, December 15.

He said the funds were channeled to each regional cash general account which included the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Southwest Papua as much as Rp805.85 billion, and the Sorong Regency Government (Pemkab) Rp205.59 billion.

Then, the South Sorong Regency Government Rp115.60 billion, the Raja Ampat Regency Government Rp211.32 billion, the Tambrauw Regency Government Rp192.46 billion, the Maybrat Regency Government Rp166.04 billion, and the Sorong City Government Rp172.96 billion.

"The distribution of the Special Autonomy Fund is carried out in three stages. The first stage is 30 percent, the second stage is 45 percent, and the third stage is 35 percent," said Rudy.

DJPb, he continued, continues to strive so that every local government can optimize the use of the Special Autonomy Fund for the success of the development of the welfare of the indigenous Papuan people.

This can be achieved if the local government pays attention to the timeliness of completing all channel requirements documents submitted to the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance (DJPK).

"Phase one at the latest April has been distributed, the second stage is June, and the third stage is November," he said again.

Rudy explained that the Special Autonomy Fund is divided into three components, namely the Special Autonomy Fund is general in nature (block grant), the Special Autonomy Fund whose use has been determined (specific grant), and the Infrastructure Additional Fund (DTI).

Aspects of planning are one of the important points to strengthen the governance of the Otsus Fund for a better volume of two, and this is stated in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 33 of 2024.

"Local governments must be committed so that distribution can be on time. In PMK 33, there are instructions for local governments," said Rudy.
