YOGYAKARTA - Prabowo Subianto, General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Gerindra Party, visited the DPP office of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (2/8). Prabowo Subianto arrived at PSI DPP headquarters at 16.55 WIB, greeted by Giring Ganesha and a number of other PSI elites. Prabowo came accompanied by a number of Gerindra officials, such as Habiburokhman (Gerindra Party Deputy Chairman) and Ahmad Riza Patria (DPP chairman Gerindra DKI Jakarta).

Habiburokhman, Deputy Head of Gerindra Party, revealed the contents of the meeting between Prabowo and PSI. Habiburokhman revealed that there was chemistry that was built in a meeting at the PSI DPP office.

Habiburokhman said that PSI administrators listened to every idea that Prabowo had in the meeting. However, the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR did not know that the meeting would end like this. But what is clear is that he said that the Gerindra Party wanted to invite many parties to cooperate.

Prabowo Subianto also expressed his pleasure because PSI had been invited to make a visit. He admitted that he did not see the size of the party that invited him to meet, even those who did not have seats in parliament such as PSI. Previously, Prabowo received an invitation from PSI to come to his office.

I am also very happy to be invited. And for me it's not a big matter, but an idealism. I see PSI consisting of young people who are idealistic, but also have high aspirations and have a commitment to national unity," said Prabowo Subianto at the PSI DPP Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (2/8/2023).

Prabowo also revealed that there was a match with PSI. Prabowo said that when he conveyed his views or ideas, there was a lot of match with the party chaired by Giring Ganesha.

"I conveyed my views. What I see has a lot of compatibility, a lot of compatibility," said Prabowo.

PSI once expressed support for Ganjar Pranowo for the 2024 presidential election. PSI has declared support for Ganjar since October 2022. In fact, the statement was announced long before the Governor of Central Java was promoted as a presidential candidate by PDIP.

Grace Natalie, Deputy Chairman of the PSI Board of Trustees, said the decision was taken from the results of the reshuffle of the people or the screening of the name of the presidential candidate which was carried out since the end of February 2022.

"From the results of the People's Rembuk, we announce that the Indonesian Solidarity Party will nominate Pak Ganjar Pranowo as PSI presidential candidate in 2024," Grace Natalie said at a press conference, Monday (3/10/2022).

However, until now PSI has not yet been accepted by PDIP as the supporting party. Last May, Giring Ganesha said that his party had not officially supported Ganjar Pranowo. Giring said PSI was still waiting for directions from President Jokowi. Grace also said that PSI would follow the President's direction for the upcoming 2024 event.
