BOGOR - City Planning Observer Yayat Supriatna said the plan to build the Puncak-Cianjur Toll Road requires an in-depth study on aspects of the impact of the surrounding environment.
"Before there is certainty from the study of environmental impacts and potential natural disasters, it is better to study (development) more deeply," Yayat said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 24.
According to him, the in-depth study is related to the land for prospective Puncak-Cianjur Toll Road which will pass through areas prone to changes in the landscape and potential landslides.
"This is the same as the discourse of the Peak Route II. Both cross vulnerable areas. The Puncak-Cianjur Toll Road is even more sensitive with environmental problems and forest areas," said Yayat, who is also a member of the Bogor Regency Strategic Development Acceleration Team (TP2S).
Yayat explained, with changes in the landscape due to road construction, it will change the environmental conditions that are crossed by the Puncak-Cianjur toll road.
The construction of the Puncak-Cianjur Toll Road and Puncak II Route has been stated in Presidential Instruction Number 3 of 2023 concerning the Acceleration of Increasing Connectivity of Regional Roads to organize the Puncak area.
