The Chancellor of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta Jamal Wiwoho answered allegations by the former chairman of the Board of Trustees (MWA) regarding allegations of corruption.

The allegations were conveyed in the aftermath of the removal of the title of professor two of the former leaders of MWA UNS, namely Deputy Chairperson of MWA Hasan Fauzi and former Secretary of MWA UNS Tri Atmojo Kusmayadi. Jamal in Solo, Saturday, said that the allegations were completely baseless.

"Regarding the statement of the former Deputy Chairman of MWA, there was an attempt by the UNS Chancellor to cover up the alleged corruption case, it was an unwarranted act. The entire process of discussing work and budget programs has been since the planning for determination/appropriation as outlined in the UNS work plan and budget documents (RKAT)," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, July 15.

Therefore, budget distribution is carried out according to the procedures stipulated in the applicable laws and regulations and Government Regulation Number 56 of 2020 concerning UNS PTNBH.

"Including if there are changes and / or adjustments to the program and budget. Regarding the proposed amendment to the 2022 UNS RKAT, in principle it has been approved / ratified / signed by the Director General of Higher Education and Technology on behalf of the Minister of Education and Culture to be realized at the UNS RKAT 2023," he said.

Regarding the baseless accusations, he hopes that Hasan Fauzi and Tri Atmojo Kusmayadi can accept the removal sanctions imposed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Makarim.

"It is advised that they accept wisely, legowo, and self-introspection. There is no need to do things that actually defame themselves and the good name of UNS," he said.

Previously, Hasan Fauzi said the suspension of his position was allegedly due to UNS Chancellor Jamal Wiwoho, who he said was covering up the alleged corruption case that occurred at UNS.

He also regretted the steps taken by the Minister of Education and Technology, Nadiem Makariem, who revoked the title of professor for himself and former MWA Secretary Tri Atmojo.
