JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Regional Secretariat (Sekda) Joko Agus Setyono said, Jakarta must be economically independent, infrastructure and human resources (HR) after no longer holding the status of the State Capital (IKN).

"Yes, we (Jakarta) are ready (to leave the status as IKN). Jakarta must be economically independent, in terms of infrastructure, human resource development, then from the innovations we make," Joko said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 30.

Joko said that currently the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) is waiting for regulations from the Central Government and the DPR.

"Then, what we are waiting for the most is the regulations. The regulations are that we cannot stand alone, nor regulate ourselves. This is a matter for the Central Government and the Indonesian House of Representatives," said Joko.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has also received proposals from various parties during a public consultation on the Draft Law (RUU) on the Jakarta Special Region for the second time at DKI City Hall, Monday (8/5).

"(Input from the public) Many, we have not summarized it, but it has been processed. We will convey the summary later," he said.

Previously, the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono stated that his party was strengthening infrastructure as part of eleven strategies to support Jakarta into an economic and business city after moving to East Kalimantan.

"As an economic city, it is included in the 'global city'. The 'global city' has an assessment," said Heru while attending the inauguration of the Head of Bank Indonesia DKI Representative in Jakarta, Monday (10/4).

According to him, in addition to strengthening infrastructure, Jakarta needs to strengthen facilities and infrastructure, control inflation to facilitate community economic activities.
