PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) or AP I ensures the readiness of Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to welcome the Airbus type A380-800 aircraft operated by Emirates airlines.

The world's largest commercial passenger aircraft will serve Dubai-Denpasar-Dubai route flights on Thursday (1/6).

"We are very happy that Emirates chose to land the largest commercial aircraft in the world, Airbus A380-800 for the first time at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. This is a historic record for Angkasa Pura I and Indonesia," said AP I President Director Faik Fahmi as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, May 28.

To welcome the arrival of the Airbus A380-800, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) together with AP I and the Emirates team have carried out an assessment of airside andlanside facilities at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. The airport has also met the specifications to serve the Airbus A380-800 flight.

Faik said that special preparations had been made to welcome the Airbus A380-800. The movement of passengers from the plane to the airport terminal or vice versa has been prepared by Garbarata or aviobridge with two trunks to accommodate the Airbus A380-800 aircraft.

"To handle the placement of the Airbus A380-800, the surrounding aircraft parking arrangements will be carried out. The surrounding parking stands are only allocated for medium-body aircraft or narrow-body aircraft to accommodate the dimensions of the A380-800 which has a wingspan of 79.5 meters," he said.

The Airbus A380-800 aircraft is the largest commercial passenger aircraft currently operating, both in terms of maximum passenger capacity and aircraft dimensions. The plan is for Emirates to operate two types of A380 aircraft in Indonesia, namely the second class type (businessdaneconomy) and type three class (first class, business, and economic).

"Once again, we are ready to welcome the arrival of the Airbus A380-800 Emirates Airlines and we hope that this moment that will become history can provide an effective electorator for tourism and economic growth both in Bali and nationally," said Faik.
