The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the West Java Police deployed 129 special personnel to take manual fines for traffic violators.

West Java Police Traffic Director Kombes Wibowo said as many as 129 personnel had been certified and took an assessment so that not all police officers could do a ticket.

"The personnel are members of the West Java Regional Police and Regional Police. This manual ticket is carried out in order to improve security, safety, order and smooth traffic," Wibowo said in Bandung as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 19.

The manual ticket will take effect from June 2023. Even so, the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (E-TLE) system continues as usual.

Wibowo said the manual ticket was again presented because not all areas in West Java have E-TLE cameras. Of the 28 thousand kilometers of roads consisting of roads, district roads, provincial roads in West Java, there are only 21 camera points for E-TLE.

In addition, now the E-TLE camera has not been able to fully identify the points of violation that are potentially committed by road users.

"There are several traffic violations that have not been detected, such as minors, drivers who drink alcohol, overcapacity of passengers, and drivers who do not carry letters, (violence) cannot be covered," he said.

According to him, the certified personnel have taken an integrity test, compliance, self-control, and several other tests. He hopes that through these special personnel there will be no more violations committed by members of the police when they take action against traffic violators.

"If people are disciplined, we don't get a ticket, this is what we do in order for the community itself, that road is for all, for other road users. This is what we have to guarantee safety," he said.
