The company's employee with the initials AD (24) who became one of the victims of alleged sexual harassment by company managers in the Cikarang area, Bekasi Regency, West Java under the pretext of extending her work contract to finally 'open the vote', accompanied by a member of the DPR-RI, Obon Tabroni.
He even admitted that he had received an invitation message just a few days after being accepted for work at the factory. The victim was invited by the perpetrator who served as outsourced manager.
"I received the job in November 2022, after a few days I got a WA message from him. At first, it was an introduction, 'how do you work here'. Then take a long time to walk, he said together. That was on the first day he WA me," said the victim when met. quoted by ANTARA, Friday 5 May.
Since being contacted for the first time, the victim admitted that he had often received WA messages from the perpetrators. Almost every day the perpetrator sends a short message which leads to an invitation to walk together.
"If I put up a status, he often comments. He said 'where is it again, why don't you invite'. In the end, I will definitely ask, let's go together," he said.
The perpetrator's invitation was always rejected. The victim also asked his friends if they wanted to walk, but the perpetrator did not want to.
"Whenever I meet my boss, he always asks when I walk together, I always reason 'yes, right?', I want to be together (with other friends) but he wants to be alone," he said.
Because they are often rejected, the perpetrators begin to exert pressure by threatening not to extend the victim's work contract if they refuse. "Maybe for a long time he was annoyed that you had just terminated your contract, your promise was fake," he said.
At the company, the victim was awarded a work contract for three months. In the first three months, the invitation was often diverted by victims. The victim tried to survive even though he was often teased until he was under pressure.
Apart from often accepting the invitation to walk together, the perpetrator often asked the victim's residence. Then at one time, the perpetrator called up to three times, but the victim did not answer.
Not long after, the perpetrator sent a photo of the hotel to the victim. "He said 'where are you, I'm here' while sending a photo of the hotel. Whereas before he never made an appointment. It's just that he often asks where I'm at," he said.
Because he often received invitations to the threat of termination of his contract, the victim admitted that he was afraid and felt pressured. The victim then emphasized that he did not want to be invited by the perpetrator. "He immediately threatened, "yes, just broke the contract," he said.
Meanwhile, a member of the DPR-RI, Obon Tabroni, who accompanied the victim, stated that because of the sense of pressure, the victim then dared to report what he had experienced to one of the labor activities.
Obon Tabroni then provided assistance until finally he wanted to voice what he was experiencing.
"Macroe is an iceberg issue, rarely people dare to convey that. There are many rumors but no one dares. So this must get assistance," he said.
Ian stated that the problems experienced by AD were not limited to harassment but as evidence that the protection of female workers in the country was bad.
"For female workers, it is not just sexual harassment but a matter of employment, career opportunities. That's why in the future, there must be female workers who dare to voice sexual harassment," he said.
