Ketum PP Muhammadiyah: Indonesia Still Lacks Specialist Doctors

Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP) Prof. KH Haedar Nashir said, there are two health problems that are currently happening in Indonesia. First, there is a lack of specialist doctors. "The first is the lack of specialist doctors, so in this case it requires a breakthrough and acceleration of the bureaucracy in order to be able to resolve the crisis of specialist doctors," said Haedar Nashir when inaugurating the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Muhammadiyah University, Surabaya, Antara, Tuesday, May 2. The second problem is community health issues. Haedar said community health problems need to present programs that focus on community health. According to him, Muhammadiyah is strong in the community health sector because it has complete instruments, not only owning hospitals and clinics but also organizational structures from the center to the lower levels. "This force, if utilized, will be able to solve public health problems such as stunting, TB and other diseases," he said. For this reason, the Central Executive of Muhammadiyah has collaborated with the Ministry of Health and the relevant Ministries to continue to encourage the acceleration of the establishment of Medical Study Programs, especially specialization programs in Muhammadiyah and Aisyiah Universities (PTMA).

"Our hope is that the nation's best children can learn to be the best dentists. Indeed, at first it was still limited, yes, there were 25 so registrants had to compete. Later they had to learn to compete fairly. So please become a student at the dental medical faculty at UM Surabaya," he said.
