JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto predicts tens of thousands of newcomers will arrive in Jakarta after Lebaran 2023. They will try their luck in the capital city. "It is predicted that after Eid, it will increase by 30 percent to 35 percent or around 12,000-14,000 people," Karyoto said in his statement, Thursday, April 27. However, it was not explained further about the calculation behind the prediction of the arrival of tens of thousands of new traders to Jakarta. The two-star general actually said that he had ordered his staff to increase the intensity of patrols in vulnerable hours after Lebaran 2023. "Of course we will increase the intensity of patrols in areas where many people are left behind," he said. In addition, his staff was also asked to continue to coordinate with housing or office security. So, the situation and conditions will always be monitored.
