Beef Prices During Meugang Tradition In Sabang Aceh Reaches IDR 200 Thousand Per Kg

ACEH - The Sabang City Food and Agriculture Service said that 57 cattle and buffalo slaughtered in the meugang tradition of welcoming Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah in the local city reached Rp. 200 thousand per kilogram. Acting Mayor of Sabang Reza Fahlevi said the Meugang tradition was held two days before Eid al-Fitr. This tradition is in the form of cooking beef and buffalo to be eaten with family before Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. "In addition to the large number of seasonal meat traders who sell, the characteristic of meugang Sabang can also be seen from the large number of ready-to-eat spices and vegetable traders who take to the side of the road," said Reza in Sabang City, Antara, Friday, April 21. According to Reza, even though it was spilled between the community and traders, his party still ensured that the implementation of the meugang was carried out in an orderly manner. The city government also dispatched officers to secure the implementation of the megang for two days before Lebaran. In this meugang, Sabang slaughtered 57 cattle, consisting of 55 cows and 2 buffalo. Head of Animal Husbandry and Health Division, Sabang City Food and Agriculture Service Hariadi said 33 cows and one buffalo were slaughtered in the first meugang. Followed by 22 cows and one buffalo in the second meugang. Hariadi ensured that the quality of the meat was guaranteed to be good. His party has examined carefully, starting from the livestock health letter, and the condition of the livestock both before and after the cut. "Of course we have checked all the livestock before or after being slaughtered, Alhamdulillah, all of them are healthy. In the two days of trading, we also did not find any cases of fasciola hiepatica/catcing hearts for cattle and buffalo. God willing, everything is safe," he said.

He added, related to the price of meat on the meugang, it ranged from Rp. 180 thousand - Rp. 200 thousand per kilogram. Meanwhile, the number of traders for the two days of trading was 48 people.
