JAKARTA - PAN Secretary General Eddy Soeparno views that National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo will not follow up on reports of alleged violations of the ITE Law targeting TikTok users, Bima Yudho Saputro. Bima was reported by an advocate named Gindha Ansori Wayka because there was a statement with the elements of SARA, namely the use of the "dajjal" diction in his video criticism of Lampung. "I believe he, the National Police Chief, will take a special policy regarding this viral case. Of course we all hope that the complaints and investigations to the police will not be continued," said Eddy in his statement, Sunday, April 16. According to Eddy, Bima's criticism of the development in Lampung Province on social media, which highlighted the wrong form of damaged road conditions, should be considered as aspirations that the local government needs to absorb, as well as communicating with its citizens. "The road that has not been repaired, then it will be repaired immediately. Meanwhile, if it has been explained to the public that repairs have been made, there is no need for any pressure or intimidation," said Eddy. Furthermore, Eddy views that criticism of a regional development should be answered by performance, not by intimidation let alone persecution. This refers to Bima's confession that his parents were intimidated by the Regent of East Lampung, Dawam Rahardjo. "Democracy provides constitutional space for citizens to criticize the government. Make it a space for dialogue and input, instead of putting pressure on critics and their families," he said. Bima's parents were reportedly intimidated by Dawam due to criticism regarding Lampung's condition. Bima sees it difficult for Lampung to become advanced provinces and highlight infrastructure, education, and bureaucracy in the area.
