JAKARTA - In a new interview with Justin Hunt of The Entertainment Outlet, former guitarist of Megadeth, Marty Friedman revealed about his new album containing original songs.

"I've been working on it for the past year and a half. And I really recorded about half last summer. I went to Italy and I recorded about half of the album. And I'm really excited about it. And I've been working on a demonstration for the remaining half of the album," Marty explained.

Regarding what fans expect from his upcoming album, Marty said the album would be fun for many people who liked the album SCenes (1992).

"It's a bit like that, but more modern. And there are all the things I've added to my musical I don't know how to say it palette, or what I'm trying to do musically," said the guitarist.

"This is basically an adult version of SCenes, really, so far. But I haven't finished yet. And I might say next summer [this will be ready to be released]. It will take a long time, but, you know, love and gentle attention. And it will come in great."

Meanwhile, Marty's last album, Tokyo Jukebox 3 was released in April 2021 through The Players Club/Mascot Label Group. The album, which was available in Japan in October 2020, is the third of the series that started with Tokyo Jukebox in 2009, and then Tokyo Jukebox 2 (2011).

Currently, Marty is supporting the tour of progressive rock legend Queensryche until April 16.
