Royal Enfield Will Present Its First Electric Motor

JAKARTA - The era of electric vehicles is in sight, almost all automotive manufacturers, especially cars carrying their newest electric vehicles, even a number of their iconic models that used to be conventional fuels, were changed and launched in an electric version.

Unlike car manufacturers, significant changes do not occur or have not occurred for two-wheeled manufacturers. Instead of launching their iconic motors in the electric model, they actually made a new subsidiary to launch their electric motors.

Recently, a two-wheeled manufacturer from India, Royal Enfield, will present the latest electric motor for this year. And this is still kept secret.

Reporting from Rideapart, Wednesday, April 12, the manufacturer did not want to provide details about this latest electric motor. However, news circulated that the manufacturer was preparing to increase production.

Royal Enfield recently acquired 60 hectares of land at the Cheyyar site near Chennai, India, which is likely the facility for the latest production electric vehicle.

The plan is that Royal Enfield will prepare other facilities through Stark Motor, which is a Spanish electric vehicle company that has just been purchased by Royal Enfield.

This strategy is similar to Harley-Davidson when introducing its subsidiary LiveWire, where finally the electric motorcycle product LiveWire was separated from the Harley-Davidson brand in May 2021.

This Stark Motor will play a role in the development of the Royal Enfield electric vehicle model in the future. However, Royal Enfield doesn't want to rush into this. They said they would do it right and right even if for the first time.

However, many manufacturers are slowly turning to electrification, of course this is one of the goals why Royal Enfield also wants to develop its own electric motor.
