JAKARTA - PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Vestas Development A/S, a global company from Denmark that is the largest provider of wind energy solutions in the world. This collaboration aims to explore the potential development of a new and renewable energy-based power generation project (EBT), especially the Bayu Power Plant (PLTB) in Indonesia.

This MoU was signed by Dwi Hartono, Director of Finance and Risk Management of PLN NP who also serves as Plt. Director of Business and Commercial Development of PLN NP, as well as Frank Sine, Senior Vice President of Global Development Asia Pacific Vestas.

President Director of PLN Nusantara Power, Ruly Firmansyah, said that through this MoU, both parties agreed to explore opportunities for developing an EBT-based power generation project, with an initial focus on potential projects in Indonesia.

"This collaboration will include the exchange of information, the preparation of initial studies, and project planning within the framework of applicable regulations," he said, Wednesday, April 23.

He added that Vestas, which has installed more than 145 GW wind turbines in 85 countries, has placed Indonesia as one of the priority countries in expanding their renewable energy business in the Asia Pacific region.

This memorandum of understanding is valid for two years since it was effective on February 5, 2025, and can be extended based on agreements between the two parties. The continuation of this cooperation will later be outlined in a further written agreement that specifically regulates project details.
