The Indonesian Diaspora Interested In Investment In The Education To Energy Sector At IKN

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Diaspora, which is a member of the Global Indonesian Diaspora Network (IDN), has begun to show interest in being directly involved in the development of the Nusantara Capital (IKN) in East Kalimantan, through investment routes.

IDN Global President Sulistyawan Wibisono said many members were looking for information on how to invest in IKN.

Sulistyawan revealed that there are several sectors that are most interested in investing by diaspora.

"For investment in IKN, some of our friends and my own friends are also wondering how through the diaspora and ask for facilitation to be able to invest in the capital city of Nusantara. Well, we receive the most from the education sector, especially in the vocational education sectors," said Sulistyawan in an online press conference, Wednesday, April 23.

He added that there are also many diasporas interested in investing in the energy sector. Apart from education and energy, there are also a number of diaspora that are interested in investing in the pharmaceutical sector.

However, until now there has been no further information regarding the amount of diaspora that will invest or the value of its investment.

"Well, that's what we received from friends in the diaspora about a lot of inquiry," he said.

Then, on the same occasion, Sulistyawan said, the 8th Indonesian Diaspora Congress organized by IDN Global will take place on August 1-3, 2025, and choose the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) as the host.

The event will be attended by around 350 Indonesian diaspora from various parts of the world, including politicians from Australia.

"(Those who come) especially those who want to invest, because they want to know all along and want to meet with some policy makers to be able to enter (invest) in several sectors," he concluded.
